Abstract :

Background: Appendicitis is a common surgical emergency where a rupture typically requires immediate intervention. Rarely, spontaneous sealing of a ruptured appendix occurs, and complementary therapies like Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV) can support recovery alongside medical care.

Objective: To document a rare case of a ruptured appendix managed with YPV healing as a complementary therapy alongside conservative medical treatment.

Methodology:

Patient Profile: A 32-year-old female housewife from Karnataka presenting with severe abdominal pain below the navel, vomiting episodes, and recurrent pain.

Medical Management: Ultrasound and CT scans revealed a ruptured appendix that had spontaneously sealed, along with a uterine cyst, leading to conservative management with medications (including antibiotics) and observation.

Intervention: Multiple YPV healing sessions were administered over seven days, focusing energy cleansing and energizing on the gastrointestinal and appendix regions, accompanied by dietary modifications.

YPV Protocols Used: YPV Level 2 and Healer Development Program Level 1 protocols, with sessions intensive initially (frequent short sessions) and then tapering off.

Results: The patient experienced intermittent symptomatic relief, with pain reducing after healing sessions and noticeable relief following vomiting episodes.
Diagnostic imaging confirmed a spontaneously sealed ruptured appendix, and a follow-up scan a month later showed complete normalization.
The patient successfully resumed normal household and office work without surgical intervention.

Conclusion: YPV healing, when used alongside medical treatment, provided symptomatic relief and contributed to recovery in a rare case of a ruptured appendix. Further systematic studies are recommended.
